Receiving the News

I woke up in the morning and opened my PC to get started on some homework. The first thing I did once it loaded and turned on was check my email. This action routinely became the first I did every morning since the date I auditioned for Royal Caribbean in the first place. This time there was actually something sitting in my inbox other than spam. My mouse hovered over an email with the subject line “Future Contract, Danielle Dreis”.

As soon as I opened it up, I couldn’t even get through reading the second sentence. RC had finally contacted me. It was a long wait but far worth the excitement. I pushed my chair back, stood up, and covered my mouth with my hand. I returned to the email to continue reading in short bursts, stepping back every other sentence and cheering. I couldn’t contain my excitement. I called my mom who was driving to get bagels and she almost crashed into a motorcyclist. She had to pull over because she was just as ecstatic as I. I then started informing the people I love. Those that supported me all this way and have been anxiously waiting to hear good news too. This truly was a wonderful day.
